Between the 10th and the 12th of June 2013, 18 PhD students and five senior researchers from the FP7 projects COPE, WILCO, FLOWS and LOCALISE had the pleasure to meet at the Universitat Aut\u00f2noma de Barcelona. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.localise-research.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/Barcelona-1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-1048\" alt=\"Barcelona 1\" src=\"http:\/\/www.localise-research.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/Barcelona-1-300x104.png\" width=\"319\" height=\"110\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.localise-research.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/Barcelona-1-300x104.png 300w, https:\/\/www.localise-research.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/Barcelona-1-1024x356.png 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 319px) 100vw, 319px\" \/><\/a>Each PhD student had the opportunity to present a paper, which was discussed by another PhD student and extensively commented by two seniors. Papers\u00a0 covered a broad range of topics in the context of social cohesion, local welfare systems and social innovation.<\/p>\n<p>Among the contributions were articles such as <em>Work on young unemployed peoples&#8217; education<\/em> (Gunilla M\u00fcllen),\u00a0 <em>Local welfa<\/em><em>re systems in Hungary<\/em> (Agnes Orosz), <em>The labour market behaviour of old<\/em><em>er wo<\/em><em>men<\/em> (Nicola Schwindt) or <em>How does globalization influence the development of national welfare states?<\/em> (Christoffer Grages). <a href=\"http:\/\/www.localise-research.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/PhDConf-Dinner2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1049 alignright\" alt=\"PhDConf Dinner2\" src=\"http:\/\/www.localise-research.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/PhDConf-Dinner2-300x225.jpg\" width=\"267\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.localise-research.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/PhDConf-Dinner2-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.localise-research.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/PhDConf-Dinner2-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 267px) 100vw, 267px\" \/><\/a>In addition to the excellent feedback opportunitiess, the participants could benefit from highly informative lectures, very inspiring discussions and good networking chances. Moreover, lovely weather and the beautiful city made the meeting a full pleasure.<\/p>\n<p>From LOCALISE, Clara Bourgeois, Vanesa Fuertes and Katharina Zimmermann participated.
